It was way back in 2004 that I met my dear friend and yoga teacher Suki Dalury. In 2005 I started my yoga journey with her.  In 2006 or 2007 we started talking about what it would be like to open a yoga studio that served all those who would benefit from yoga's greatness. Altruistic and naive we discussed many different possibilities for a yoga studio that was accessible to people of every social, economic, and racial background. And though we would have liked to offer yoga for free it turned out to not be the most viable solution. As things have a tendency to do, the opening of Shree unfolded just as it was meant to, in it's own time and with surprisingly great ease.

In July of 2009  Shree Yoga Taos  first opened it's doors. Since that first weekend Shree has had the great and humbling opportunity to witness a multitude of students triumph and thrive in the many faces of life's adversity. Through the myriad of stages of being and transformation Shree has become a vessel which holds great love, wisdom, and story. Rich with respect for all who enter, students and teachers alike, Shree Yoga Taos has evolved into the studio we dreamed it to be. Embracing diversity as strength, we welcome new members to our yoga family without limits bound to race, creed, or socio-economic status with each passing year. Such a bounty of community, teachings, and beauty invites us to experience the already present state of Shree in each of our lives daily. I look forward to seeing you at Shree in our shared future!
