Getting What You Want

Yesterday I had the sweetest conversation with a friend on the subject of getting what you want. She said very straightforwardly, “You have to say what you want if you want to have it. There is no point in just keeping it in, hoping.” From inanimate material objects, to life goals, and unconditional love, we have to first acknowledge what it is we want. If we never acknowledge it we will spend our entire lives on the receiving end of things we were not asking for. When we set into focus our desires we also set into action the currents of energy that will navigate us to their fulfillment. The trick is to not get caught up in the how, but rather, trust in the knowing that all good things in their own time come.

In the meantime, while we flow through the current of life which is so often out of our control, we do have the opportunity to choose much of the flavor of the experience of it. If you want to be happy, be happy. If you want to be peaceful, be peaceful. If you want to be rich, be rich. If you want help, ask for help, receive help, and be helped. The only limits ever placed on what it is you desire are within your mind and your ability to see yourself on the receiving end of what you want.

Know what you want, ask for it, receive it, be it, and have fun!
